Brief biography: Professor of Musculoskeletal Medicine Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist for LTHT; Deputy Director of the NIHR Leeds Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit. NIHR Senior Investigator Emeritus. Chair of the Arthritis Research UK Osteoarthritis and Crystal Disorders Clinical Studies Group, responsible for national research priority setting. Previous chair 2008 and 2014 of NICE OA Guidelines Development Group. Co-executive lead of the international outcomes group OMERACT, immediate past-President of the International Society for Musculoskeletal Imaging in Rheumatology. Inaugural Chair of the EULAR Standing Committee on Musculoskeletal Imaging. Secured over £45 million in personal and collaborative grant income. Invited speaker at EULAR and American College of Rheumatology annual meetings for the last 10 years. On a number of editorial boards of the leading rheumatology journals, and is current co-editor of the Oxford Textbook of Rheumatology. Has authored over 400 Pubmed listed publications, cited over 15,000 times.
