A new straightforward method for semi-automated segmentation of trabecular bone from cortical bone in diverse and challenging morphologies.

A newly published research method is now available open source in The Royal Society Open Science from the work developed in Pump Priming Project no. 10 and Eva Herbst ECR internship. With use of Avizo software and instructions also published on GitHub, automatic segmentation of trabecular and cortical bone from CT scans is now much simpler and can be adopted in other programmes.
